Foxmask is a book about a boy named Thorvald and his childhood friend Credhie. Thorvald sets of for an adventure after his aunt Margaret gives him a letter from his farther Somerlad he gets angry at his aunt for not telling him earlier and sets out non the adventure with his friend Sam the fisherman. Credhie sneaks onto the boat with out warning anyone as they set off they encounter very strong water and wind and they are thrown to an island with tribes people the tribes name was the long knife but they had an evil curse among them of which a new generation cannot be started unless they find a child of a fair haired woman so every year they set off across fools tide to the isle of clouds  where they suspect fox mask lives. Will they find him??? Or will they die???
